Celebrate Lunar New Year with family through story, tradition, and hands-on fun.
β
Led by Chefs Min and Emily, roll up your sleeves to make Tao Hua Su (ζ‘θ±ι ₯), a delicate Chinese puff pastry shaped like blooming cherry blossoms, a symbol of fresh beginnings and happiness for the year ahead.
β
Thereafter, snuggle in to discover the legend of the little red packet (ηΊ’ε /εε²ι±) through an interactive Mandarin storytelling session at a heritage pavilion, featuring BrookieKids’ original CNY story.
β
A magical blend of craft, culture, and festive storytelling — perfect for children and families to experience together.
Where Tradition Meets Taste
The workshop will be held at Le Shan Cafe, nestled within Thian Hock Keng Temple on Telok Ayer Street, offering a unique Lunar New Year experience in Singapore’s oldest Hokkien temple.

Story Synopsis

Legend tells of a time when the Eight Immortals transformed themselves into eight shining coins to help an elderly couple save their son from the demon Sui. β
β
One New Year’s Eve, Olive wakes to find Sui at her bedside, but he’s no longer scary. Now curious and playful, Sui joins Olive in preparing for the festivities.
β
When Sui’s mischief goes too far and Grandma’s beloved cherry blossoms are ruined, Olive must help make things right before morning comes.
β
Will they save the New Year in time?
